Teacher's Importance in society

As we all know, the role of a teacher is very important in any person's life. Teacher is the first person other than parents who helps us to decide the direction of our life. The teacher is also responsible for the for the direction of the nation.

Teaching As a career

Well, teaching is a holy profession and good opportunity to make some active contribution to the community, society, a nation and to the world.

It is also a good career for a person with good financial and moral benefits. Teachers always get respect from the society. so it's the attractive option for the people to choose.

But let's not consider teaching as just profession or an ordinary career option. We need to understand that people who goes in to this line are not only oriented to the career building. Because it's a very critical job which can make or screw other's life.

What people thinks today about being a teacher ?

Most of the people take the teaching career as very comfortable, less challenging, and secure job. Most of people choose the teaching as their career for some common reasons:

only 5-6 hours job (In which also there are free hours).
good starting salary (12 to 20k).
3-4 mini vacations and 1 long vacation per year.
Less responsibility as compare to other jobs.
Steady and comfortable life.
and so on ........................

In short, people consider the teaching profession and they treat as a way to get self-comfort and stability which is very harmful for a nation and a completely wrong decision.

Change is on the way...

We have to change this system as this is not good system. Only those people who are really want to contribute as a teacher should come in this field.

Currently government has introduced many schemes to reduce this mentality of people, such as in primary and higher secondary level the entrance exam is taken. but in higher education there is not any criteria like this.

This entrance exam is also ineffective as they all are testing only the bookish knowledge. There must be a specific mechanism to test people's attitude towards teaching job.
